Automobile Fire - Route 9 & Route 403 |
| June 24, 2010 |
|
On Tuesday, July 6, 2010, the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company was called to the Appalachian Market at the intersection of Routes 9 and 403 for a vehicle fire.
The driver of the vehicle drove into the parking lot due to the car smoking.
15-1-1 was first on scene and confirmed the vehicle was on fire.
When the first due engine (15-2-1) arrived on scene, handlines were pulled to extinguish the fire as well as protect extension to the building, which was less than 10 feet away.
Shortly after the engine arrived, our tanker (15-4-1) arrived and connected to the enging in order to provide 3,000 gallons of additonal water in case it was needed.
Continental Village Fire Department arrived after the fire was extinguished and assisted in determining if there was any extension to the building.
Putnam County's Cause and Origin team was called in to establish what caused the fire in the car.
Responding Units: 15-1-1, 15-2-1, 15-4-1
Mutual Aid: Continental Village Fire Department 14-1-1, 14-1-2, 14-2-2
